Akcja dzieje się w przyszłości. Atmosfera na powierzchni Ziemi jest tak zanieczyszczona, że ludzie zaczęli mieszkać pod ziemią. Bohaterami opowieści jest dwójka młodych ludzi: jeden z nich marzy o ponownym zamieszkaniu na powierzchni Ziemi, drugi musi naprawić generator zaopatrujący podziemne miasta w energię
